2013 was a super crazy year for LHS, we completely rebranded, we left Etsy to open our own ecomm-site, we switched fabric printing methods and began producing our goods through a local manufacturer. I'm a serial planner, an over the top organizer and an obsessive resolution-maker, which means there's a shit-ton of awesome things in store for us this year.
A big to-do on our agenda includes collaborating with our favorite bloggers to make the LHS blog into an amazing source for all things kid related; unique nursery designs, seasonal fashion trends, healthy recipes, fun toddler-friendly crafts, plus our personal favorites in gear, apparel, and gifts for little ones. We're also itching to include a Conversations with Eli video series, because y'all -- that kid is damn funny.
For us to reach our goals with growing the blog, we'll be adding a position to our team for Content Manager. The ideal candidate will be required to develop a monthly Content Plan for our blog, including an integration plan for our social media accounts. They'll work with our contributors to ensure the Content Plan deadlines are met, be extremely organized, be proficient in iCal or Google Calendars, Google Docs and Dropbox, and experience with Shopify blogging platform is preferred. Must be familiar with parenting blogs, and be very comfortable using Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter. Someone with Photoshop experience is also a bonus. This position is open to anyone living in the US, and hours are flexible, but must be available for weekly Google Hangout meetings to discuss agenda that take place on Tuesdays at 1PM EST. Candidate will answer to both the VP of Operations and CEO as well as coordinate with our contributing bloggers, so communication and organization is absolutely KEY. Another exciting item on my personal to-do list this year, is helping YOU. It's no secret that I'm terribly passionate about small business, entrepreneurs and Making Dreams Come True -- in joining the team at The Handmade Creative, I have high hopes to offer one-on-one business consulting and shop critiques, plus we plan to bring the Best of the Best in small business, motivational speakers and real, relate-able business icons available, to a Boot Camp 101 type live-web series, all accessible from anywhere in the world. There's also several other incredible ideas up my sleeve for helping other small businesses reach their goals, whether they've been in business for six months, or six-years.
With all this exciting work on my plate, I really need a right-hand man (or woman!) who can be in our Brooklyn office to assist in developing our plans for business consulting and The HC. This person must be comfortable with with Shopify, GoogleDocs, Google Hangouts and iCal or Google Calendars. Must be a self-starter, ready to brainstorm and bounce ideas around with. Must have excellent communication skills, be extremely detail oriented and very organized. Ideal hours are Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11AM-3PM, schedule is flexible, but this is a Part Time position with room to grow. Finally, we're really hoping to cut out processing time in THIRDS -- getting your orders shipped within two days of purchase. To make that happen, we desperately need another Shipping Coordinator in our Brooklyn office. This person will be responsible for packaging and shipping, must be available Monday and Thursdays from 11AM-3PM (somewhat flexible) and must be able to lift 30lbs. Must be able to work additional hours when necessary (during scheduled sales, specifically).
