It's hard to just show one day of adventures in Prescott- I wish I could take you all along for so much more! Even though we live in a small town, there is a lot to do, especially if you love the outdoors. We are surrounded by the Prescott National Forest, and there's an abundance of hiking trails all around us so if you're up for it, you can always stay busy! Prescott is a beautiful place- most people think of Arizona and they immediately think of scorching hot weather and cacti, but where we live is very different. We're up in the mountains, we get snow in the winter, and overall it's a world away from the hot desert of Phoenix.
On this particular Sunday we spent the day eating our favorite pizza and exploring one of our favorite areas. It was such a great family day, and I'm happy have you come along for the ride!
We love our downtown area, and it's a great place to hang out with the kids. It's extra fun being that the boys are third generation Prescottonians, so their Grandpa and Daddy ran on the town square as little ones themselves, many years ago. I love all of the tradition we have here, and I feel lucky to be raising our family in such a special place.
If you ever find yourself in Prescott there are a lot of delicious places to eat, but if you're in the mood for pizza there's just one place worth going- Bill's Pizza! It's our absolute favorite, and I can't recommend the "Bill's Sauce" (half tomato/half pesto) enough. Yum! Some other delicious restaurants to try out: El Gato Azul, Thaifoon, and Park Plaza Deli! For an after dinner treat Frozen Frannie's has delicious yogurt, and it's super kid-friendly too. A must-stop in the summer for sure.
After lunch we headed to the woods to do some hiking. I would say this is how we spend most of our "family time," and to us, nothing is better! We love packing up the kids in the car and driving into the forest and finding a new trail or enjoying an old favorite. Thanks to our Ergobaby carrier we're able to go for quite awhile, and Charlie is usually pretty content riding along on his Daddy or me. This hike turned out to be extra special, as the snow run off was just starting to fill the creek as we walked along. The sound was beautiful! There's just something so wonderful about be surrounded by nature, and I hope our boys grow up feeling a great love for the outdoors too.
Thanks for taking a little peek into our day!
