Hi Friends -- Ashley here!
June & January is proud to call Austin, Texas home! I am convinced that it really and truly is the best city to live in. Don't worry though, you can get a pretty good taste of this amazing city (yeah, the food is LEGIT) just by visiting!
This post is going to make a trip to Austin with kids EASY PEASY. I've put together all you need to know about doing the ATX with kids like a true local would.
Lets start with South Congress. For my family, a typical weekend involves strolling up and down SoCo. The food, the music, the people. It keeps Austin weird just like we like it.
What we are wearing:
Ashley: Hat // Mama Circle Purse // Mama Maxi
Moses: Hat // The Romper // Knee High (Poppy dot coming soon!) // The Slide on Shoe
Millie: Peplum Tee // Varsity Shorts // Dot Knee High // The Slide on Shoe // The Circle Purse
Don't forget to take a picture in front of the "I love you so much." sign at Jo's Coffee. And while you're at it, grab an Iced Turbo. You'll thank me later.
When we know the kids are going to be joining along we always go to Homeslice Pizza! If you ask to sit outside they have an outdoor area in the back with ping pong tables and plenty of room for your kiddos to dance it out. Also, they will give your kids pizza dough to play with while you wait for food!
After dinner, don't forget to go get a cupcake at Hey Cupcake! They have a little grassy area for the kids to run while you sit at a picnic table and people watch. And really, it's the best people watching. The cupcakes aren't too shabby either.
I hope you enjoyed following along our beautiful afternoon in our amazing city! It doesn't get much better than a spring day on South Congress with my kids! Now to plan your trip to visit!
Have more time? Want even more? Here's an expanded list for you!
Domain/Rock Rose Area (Tons of great shopping with room for kids to run)
Mueller Area (A playground and a duck pond to eat a packed lunch by)
